What is VECTA Gluco-Boost?
Gluco-Boost is water soluble, readily digestible, pure carbohydrate; suitable for use in horses under stress or extreme workload where increased energy levels are required. It is the ultimate energy source for performance horses and will increase carbohydrate calories for stored energy in muscles (Glycogen). Gluco-Boost is revolutionary and highly effcient carbohydrate loader and contains a 99.9% level of carbohydrate. The energy boost is available to the animal within 60 minutes of administration.
When to use Gluco-Boost
t To help in the expedited recovery of horses, supplying them with an immediate energy source. As Gluco-Boost is very efficiently digested and absorbed, it serves as an important fuel for malnourished or ill horses. t When a diet with high caloric density is desirable, i.e. horses under extreme stress; heavy workloads such as training and racing, endurance, pregnancy and lactation, breeding and growing. t When acceptance of traditional feed is limited.
Fast Delivery of Energy
Gluco-Boost empties from the stomach as fast as an equivalent amount of water (Rapid gastric emptying), thus allowing the rapid delivery of readily available energy, without compromising fluid availability to the animal. Fed on 3 consecutive days following racing, Gluco-Boost will assist in restoring depleted liver and muscle tissue glycogen levels.
Gluco-Boost to Buffer Lactic Acid Build-Up
Gluco-Boost provides benefits for the buffering of lactic acid build-up in horses. Increased carbohydrate and sugar transportation to muscle tissues extends the lactic acid threshold as a greater portion of strenuous exercise (eg. Racing) is required to metabolise the increased levels of glycogen (stored sugar) in muscles which must occur before lactic acid builds in the body.
Administration
To be fed orally, i.e. in the feed, drinking water, or by tube drench to horses Gluco-Boost may be fed in two ways; on a daily basis or as a pre-race and/or post-race administration to assist in the expedited repair following hard work or racing. Be sure to provide adequate drinking water after administration. If administered in drinking water, product and water must be changed every 24 hours.
When feeding on a daily basis, animals should be exercised, except where debilitated, otherwise excess weight problems may occur
